What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form on this site or call us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the state you live in, and your age. If you go on to apply for coverage, we will also collect information the insurance carrier requires, which typically includes your date of birth, address, health history, prescription history, beneficiary details, and payment information.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our host records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you looked at, and the site you came from. We use this to understand how the site is being used, not to identify you personally.
Why we collect it
We use your information to respond to your request, to quote and compare insurance products, to submit applications to carriers on your behalf, to service the policies we have placed for you, and to meet our obligations under insurance law and carrier agreements.
Calls and texts
When you submit a form, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text, or email about insurance, including through automated dialing systems. Agreeing to this is not a condition of buying anything from us.
You can withdraw that permission at any time. Reply STOP to any text, tell us on a call, or email mswinsurance1@gmail.com and we will stop contacting you. We honor requests to be added to our internal do-not-call list.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information.
We share it only where we need to:
- With insurance carriers and their underwriters, so they can quote and issue coverage
- With service providers who help us run the business, such as our form and email providers and our agency management system, who are only permitted to use your information to provide that service
- Where the law requires it, including responding to regulators, subpoenas, or court orders
Your rights under insurance privacy law
As a licensed insurance agency, we are treated as a financial institution under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and are subject to state insurance privacy rules. That means we are required to protect the nonpublic personal information you give us, to limit how it is shared, and to tell you about our practices. This page serves as that notice.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete information we are not required to keep. Some records must be retained for a period of years under insurance regulations and carrier agreements, so we may not be able to delete everything.
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Minnesota, or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. How long we keep it
If you contact us and do not buy a policy, we keep your inquiry for a reasonable period in case you come back to us. If we place a policy for you, we keep the file for as long as the policy is active and afterward for the period required by state insurance record retention rules.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as Social Security numbers or banking details through the website form. Call us instead.
Cookies
This site uses only the basic cookies needed for it to function and, if enabled, standard analytics to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
